The Big Cat Public Safety Act
Good news! The Big Cat Public Safety Act was passed by US Senate, which will mean stricter requirements for private ownership of big cats. Under the Bill, only wildlife sanctuaries, universities & certified zoos would be allowed to house big cats. This is a win because it means that big cats in captivity are more likely to be properly cared for by trained professionals, as keeping a big cat will require a federal permit.
